Russia is smart to do this. While China is talking about how dominating space would be a really important thing, the US is talking about how meaningful it would be to have the first transgender lesbian sheriff.

A discussion thread about the future of space exploration might have been interesting. But you used the link to troll instead.
Not trolling. Just showing how other world powers have demonstrably superior priorities to the US.

As long as NASA fills its job of building up Muslim relations, they have no need to accomplish anything else.

Agreed. It could have been an interesting conversation but you sabotaged it and let the bozo brothers chime in... Oh and BTW we are doing some really cool stuff in space. However, Russia is very capable aswell...

Why post a complaint about the thread as opposed to moving the thread in the direction you'd like it to go?

No, SpaceX is doing very cool stuff in space ... for 1/10th the price.

NASA, is another story. We'll see what happens with USSF. So far they have been limited to continuing their existing Space Command role ... supporting NASA. E.g., Pre-existing 30th and 45th Space Wings.

I just launched, performed RPOD and mated with 20 plus old GEOcom, brought it back down from graveyard and put it back into commission. That’s pretty cool. HALO and Gateway is pretty cool, Blue Orgin is doing cool stuff, robotics, refueling, MARS etc.... Great you’ve heard of SpaceX. I’m impressed.

Has Blue Origin even gotten close to escape velocity yet?

Considering they've leapfrogged everyone in launch systems ... yeah, I have. I was one of their biggest skeptics back during Falcon I, even after they finally had a success (after 3 failures).

But yeah, from pintle to combined cycle, they are way, way ahead of everyone in launch systems ... before we even look at recovery (which has trade-offs).

I think that is usually the board libs. Shutdown space exploration in favor giving billions to other countries for gender studies.
Once again running off at the mouth about shit you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. Just stick to your bullshit propaganda post.

I accept your humble apology;)

$25 million? First 25 million is a drop in the bucket. Second, please explain what space exploration program or need was neglected or shut down? Perhaps you know what the NASA budget has been for the last decade? Understand I initially called you a few choice names but choose to delete. But seriously, you are clueless and really really lack comprehension skills.. unbelievable.

Well, NASA hasn't exactly be doing well with its manned space budget.

Frankly, I blame that more on the Clinton-W-Obama disconnect. I.e., administrations cannot be changing the space program every administration (every 4-8 years), and expecting things to work out. X-33 SSTO (Clinton) to Aries (W) to SLS (Obama). Luckily SpaceX has been bailing them all out, and at 1/3rd the price of the ULA.

In any case, cutting space exploration doesn't do much for anything (NASA Budget = $0.025T/year -- yes, that's point-zero-two-five), it's nothing compared to other programs.

Cutting defense by 70%, leading to a 30% savings ($0.2T/year savings), would do a lot more ... but in the end, it too is nothing compared to education (>>$2T/year, $1.2T/year publicly funded), healthcare ($2.3T/year), and even pre-COVID, the deficit ($0.8-1.0T/year) which was similar to interest on the debt, etc...
