$900 for a season pass... you still have to buy your own alcohol... it's beach themed-- but with no water or sand... I'm a little skeptical about this one.

Will there be bikini clad waitresses? Seems like the very least they could do. It is a beach.Originally posted by YouSeeEffer:

I felt that way at first but now I'm fine with the beach theme. Orlando is a whopping 30 minutes from a beach. This is Florida. It's not like we're Georgia installing a beach themed club.Originally posted by Goldenbuc:
Love the concept of there being a deck and chairbacks on the eastside to lure more fans over there. I wanted a party deck at BHNS for a while, but don't like the idea of it being premioum club seats on the east side for $900 as season. Would prefer it be general standing room only, with a capacity limit. I hope it succeeds for UCF's sake, but can smell a bomb in the making. The beachy theme doen't fit, either. I used to work for Guiness in their marketing department and we'd meet with bar owners from out of state, expanding to Orlando to add their "new hip bar and club" to the scene and the first place they looked was I-Drive and Point Orlando, thinking that was the place to be in town. Each one failed after just a few months. Where am I going with this? Basically, Stansbury reminds of that same guy who is from out of state and when he thinks Florida, he thinks beaches and thinks "this is what people here want", without doing any research. To me, the renderings look tacky and I'd prefer a classier club approach.
Overall Consensus: I think the funds would have better spent elsewhere on the stadium. I know that new scoreboards, sounds speakers and concourse TVs don't generate revenue, but it does add to the fan experience and will bring them back. To me it's just, "Meh". I wouldn't pay for tickets in there.
I don't get it. I think it is a gimmick. But for the sake, I don't get the Buc's ship or the pool thing at the Rays or any of those. I think they are cheesy and gimmicky. Additionally, UCF doesn't have a great track record for pulling off Disneyesque designs and often times their stuff ends up like a DIY Pinterest project.Originally posted by YouSeeEffer:

I think you are wrong on this part. I think that the revenue the tiki bar will create will be put right back into those upgrades that you would like to see happen. I think this will help fund those projects alot sooner, so it will be a positive.Originally posted by Goldenbuc:

Remember, a contracted vendor will be doing concessions in the club (maybe a different one for food, another for booze) so those $$ have to be shared with said vendor.Originally posted by UCFKnight85:
Assume very conservatively that the beers sold per person is 3 per game.
Assume the price of beer is $6 each.
For 950 members, that's $17,100 in revenue per game. If we play 7 games, that's $119,700 in extra revenue right there.
That's on top of the nearly $1M in revenue the Club will generate in membership fees, assuming it's full.
Since I believe the entire Club is being built with donated funds, that means that all of this revenue (minus costs) goes straight into UCF's pockets for future projects.

UCF did research and found that the mostly younger crowd wouldn't pay $2,500-$5,000 in yearly donations for an "outdoor" non-AC club.Originally posted by HuffyCane:
Poorly executed.
They need to do an upscale theme at the 50 yard line with the best possible parking without displacing elite donors. A place where 30 to 40 crowd can party, but not be stifled in the suites with the big donors and brass.
I wan't that job. Hell I will even wear a Speedo.Originally posted by Game_Day_Sports:
Have you seen how UCF manages contracts?
UCF will have to staff it with union employees at $30 an hour plus benefits.
I am just being sarcastic. I don't particularly like them, but they have 45,000 seats and only room for what 500 here? That means that 44,500 aren't their target market for those spots. I also would never spend the money on the club level. That is just me. I enjoy sitting with the heathens in the mid-priced seats.Originally posted by btbones:
It's given us a huge media splash nationally already . You look at the companies involved and they have been very successful at developing these themed ideas . I know gds doesn't approve but I have no idea how anyone can say it's pootly executed before it's even built . By and large it's been very well received by the open minded folks and the media . I placed a deposit for two and am looking forward to it

You did read that my comments were completely tongue in cheek right?Originally posted by btbones:
950 . And not to be a dick but that's precisely the problem . People bitching about something they have no clue about . I understand its not for everybody . It's just the blind dismissal of the project as a failure without facts and given the exposure and early interest that couldn't be further from the proof at this point

FED IS PUMPING; TIME TO BUY BEACH CLUB PASSOriginally posted by Boston.Knight:
Outstanding idea. You have to realize the dynamics of the current economy and demographics. There is definitely a robust market for luxury goods, thanks to the Fed inflating the stock market.
Did you know that the ticket prices for the last rolling stones tour averaged $652 each? And people were still buying them. There is a segment of the consumer that has a pantload of discretionary money to spend and will blow it on the right "premium" experience, otherwise they save it.
So UCF has to be uber-cool and provide a worthwhile premium experience to maximize demand, which is self feeding. Once people think it's cool, price doesn't really matter - within reason.
The weird thing about your shitty comparison is that The Rolling Stones have a limited shelf life live and it is quickly running out where UCF will be here for a significantly longer time, even if the football program eventually disbands.Originally posted by Boston.Knight:

Im in the same boat. I am looking at going the $750 route this time, just so I can park in the new E5 lot.Originally posted by USFSucks:
I love it, but I would prefer if it was a $700 donation to be able to buy two tickets, that's the only chance I'd be able to convince the wife and the rest of my group to go in (especially once I have to start buying tickets for the kiddos).
You hit the nail on the head. When making my decision to pick up a couple of seats in the ESC, I can assure you that none of the factors were related to the theme of the club. It's being done as a beach theme not for those of us already at the stadium, or even those of us locally, because we already "get it". It's being done for the exposure to those outside of the area/state, much of which the school is already receiving, and the novelty. I guarantee you that it will be prominently shown on every single television broadcast of a home game because of the uniqueness of the concept. It's the same as the pools and slides (and other unique features) at the various MLB and NFL stadiums. If it would've been done with a Disney theme then I would think it's cheesy. Hell, even if it had a Knight theme I would think it's cheesy, because then you're only making the appeal to the most hardcore of fans.Originally posted by KnightedIbis:
All the bickering about the beach theme, I understand it, but I simply don't care that much - I like the idea, I think its already paid for itself in exposure alone, and it will certainly pay for itself in what really matters $$$$. If its not classy or too cheesy, its not like we are stuck with this, this will evolve over time as our stadium has. But this is definitely a step in the right direction.
As for the money being better spent else where, could not disagree more - club seats with alcohol sales that can be brought back to seats is the lynchpin. That what makes this pay for itself, and no other adaptation - save more boxes (and even that probably not so much) - would have had a higher ROI. Great move, UCF.
I hope you get in Wayne, but I believe that new ESC ticketholders will be given priority into that lot before others.Originally posted by UCFWayne:

I think I read that E5 will have right around 1k spots and the ESC will be capped around 900. Plus if you buy 2 tickets you quality for Softball anyways. If Im not guaranteed an E5 then I wont move up from the $250 level Im at now.Originally posted by CommuterBob:I hope you get in Wayne, but I believe that new ESC ticketholders will be given priority into that lot before others.Originally posted by UCFWayne:Im in the same boat.
