Figured we'd have a poll now that the schedule is out and we can guestimate how we'll finish. I figured anything over 6 wins is dreaming so I stopped at that. I, myself, would be elated if we made a bowl game this year.

I see us at 5-6 heading into that last game against USF. Should set up a pretty good game

SC State and Tulane are the only games I'm confident about. FIU and Tulsa are beatable. UConn is a win if we remember to bring space heaters. That gets us to 5 wins.

There's a decent chance we'll be playing for a bowl on Thanksgiving weekend

More than 6. Some of you fail to realize just how bad the previous staff was. I can't wait for the future of the program!
We not only went 0-12 we got stomped by some bad teams. You don't go from that to over 6 wins while playing a lot of underclass men and installing a new scheme. Y'all are setting SF up to fail.

We did go 8-5, 7-1 in conference, in 2005 coming off of 0-11. Less injuries, more experience, senior QB, much better coaching staff. It's wishful thinking but 7-5.

After last season in which even GOL said we were going to be pretty good, it's hard to predict. Looking at the roster and schedule, I'd like to say 5 to 7 victories BUT we wont know what we got until we see the team play some games against teams in our league...

If the players quit in games again this season, I will be very disappointed. They under performed big time last season and I don't know if they quit on the staff, quit on each other, etc. GOL always spoke about the chemistry of a team and how it changed ever year. When you have a QB with the "it" factor, that can help the chemistry tremendously. The players play harder longer and don't quit. Last season the team wasn't feeding off of one another's enthusiasm. They played hard for one quarter and then quit after losing those 2 easy games in September.

What Frost said about our roster before our 2016 recruiting class came in speaks of the potential we have:

Frost examined the roster at Central Florida, received intel on its youth and liked what he saw, even after an 0-12 season.

"I read this was the third-youngest team in college football last year," Frost said. "That appeals to me."

This really says it all. I only went with 4 wins. But I'm looking forward to a nice surprise !

While Holman is a senior there's a good chance he doesn't start a single game this year. We are running a completely different scheme. SF will need to highlight his new offense for the recruits he wants to sign in 2017. Also two of our highest rated returning players were injured last year, Akins and Hiers. Who knows how they'll come back. I don't know if everyone is trolling but 4-5 wins will be a successful season for SF.

I went with 4 because I'm just not sure how good we are going to be as well as how good the competition is going to be. Tulsa is always a tough out for us, even when we are good. Tulane seems to be improving. UConn on the road, also, I don't know what they bring back. Temple may have lost some studs on defense, but their QB and RB are back this year. Cincy is always solid and I think USF will again be a solid team if not better than last year. ECU should also be pretty solid, as they tend to usually be (although they fired their coach, so you never know how the transition will work out).
I think if we stay healthy, we can win between 4-9 games. I think Michigan, Houston, and Cincy are probably a bit out of reach. With a little luck and the big if- we stay healthy, Temple and Maryland and within striking range- Maryland probably not as much.

9 games?? Really?? I agree with pretty much everything Stormthecourt wrote. New offense and defense, blown out of games (not just loses), We could win 4 game, but 2,3 or 5 is not out of the question. I think a lot of posters have UCF blinders on and are setting themselves up for disappointment.

8-4. Losses will include Michigan, Houston, hate to say USF, and one more to be determined. YES we will beat Maryland, with relative ease. Temple will be a tight one all the way.

I'm confident the staff of Scott Frost will succeed. That said dont expect a big turnaround. GOL left this program in a mess. Frost will be given the impossible task of molding GOL players into his vision. A bunch of slow QBs will need to dramatically increase their speed or find some weight to gain and play the line. Holman will need to improve his strength and his toughness. If he can do that, he's a poor man's Cam. Three wins and im being generous. This team is still a mess and GOL was a waste for most of it.

GOL left this program in a mess.

I'm not as sure. Obviously 0-12 was a mess, but I think so much of that was youth, key injuries, and the lack of leadership on the coaching staff as GOL tried to transition into retirement while testing the waters as AD. This team will not be as young and inexperienced, not be as injured, and most importantly not be lacking the direction that a focused and motivated coaching staff provides. In the majority of seasons UCF will have more football talent to deploy than the likes of SC State, FIU, Tulane, Tulsa, Temple, and UCONN. We play all those teams in the state of Florida this year with the exception of UCONN. I'm seeing 4-6 wins. Other variables like experience on the roster, injuries and current state of the coaching staff means that there will be seasons where those teams beat UCF, but it will not be the norm.

I have a hard time on this one. My brain says 5. I still think our talent level is way above what we showed last year. Question is how does that talent fit in to the new system, and how fast do they grasp it. If they could go 2-2 OOC get some experience and confidence, I really think the talent is there for a good run. Spring practice is very important this year. Coaches need to evaluate players and players learn basics of a system and coaches. After that it an off season working out to be the Eastern Flyers and not the grounded pounded.
