It seems alot of posters assume that since GOL stepped down as AD that he also will give up coaching. I am not sure that is plans,

Unfortunately I feel that he'll broker a deal with Hitt to at least coach the 2017 game against Georgia Tech, which means 2 and a half seasons of this underachieving crap in our future.

How has GOL earned the right to drag this program down for two more years, at a time when the program is competing for possible conference expansion spots? End of the season? Sure. We wont find a suitable replacement before the offseason anyhow. But two more years? Come on now.

I too get the feeling that with more chatter amongst fans for him to make a plan to leave, the more banners that fly before games, the more media members that talk about his retirement, part of GOL just wants to keep pressing on as a huge middle finger to everyone. However, when I heard that interview with Bianchi I really got the sense that he may be willing to hang it up after this year. We'll see which part of him wins out.

Why would he want to get annihilated in front of Georgia Tech? If he's smart, he'd step down before then.

With Memphis, Temple and Houston doing so well. Plus USF is showing a pulse. We can't afford to keep GOL around let the house burn.

While I agree with your post it makes me think why can't we make a move that's right for our program regardless of how conference members are doing?? So tired af this %#*%. We continue to be our own worst enemy. The restrictions placed on just about every facet of being a UCF fan are ridiculous. Line up in the hallway and hold hands to get tailgating spot on Memory Mall, we'll make it prohibitive to rush the field after an exciting game and great win (oh yeah, we don't have those), etc., etc. So small time and elementary.

+1

The University & Program can't get out of it's own way. I now understand why it was stuck in lower divisions for so long when the opportunity was there to get a huge head start on the other upstart Programs in the State.

Kick an old man to the curb? Look at everything he's done for UCF. Some ungrateful fans out there!

Give him 5 more years and he'll get us back on track.

I got a copy of his renegotiated contract.

It says he coaches forever.

The GOL estate will sue if they dont see the coaching staff rolling his dead carcass out to the field.

I mean, we'll build the statue for GOL! He's done a good job in many cases of the facilities etc. At this point though, for the money we are paying out, I think we need a better decision maker. Looking at some of the creative play callers today I just SMH at Brent Key. Defense??? Who our DC? Yeah...that's what I thought.
