Imagine a parties' position on immigration being so extremist in nature and so far outside of the mainstream in America that the guy who ran Hope n Change's DHS for him is here declaring these people to be morons who will effectively implement open borders.

At least this cements the fact that "open borders" is not some right wing talking point; it is a basic, hard fact that this is what Democrats want by measure of every single thing they've said recently.

ome Democrats are questioning the basic legal underpinnings of U.S. immigration enforcement and challenging the long-held consensus that a robust detention and deportation system is necessary to prevent an even bigger wave of illegal border crossings into the United States.

On Tuesday, Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) said he would “virtually eliminate immigration detention” by executive order. During last week’s debate, presidential candidate Julián Castro proposed decriminalizing illegal border crossings — a position other Democrats in the race rapidly adopted…
“That is tantamount to declaring publicly that we have open borders,” said Jeh Johnson, who ran the Department of Homeland Security during President Barack Obama’s second term. “That is unworkable, unwise and does not have the support of a majority of American people or the Congress, and if we had such a policy, instead of 100,000 apprehensions a month, it will be multiples of that.”

Well, it would actually mean no apprehensions. Why would we stop someone for doing something that isn't a crime?

And here comes Shuckster, referencing the hospital patient in 3, 2, 1..............

Imagine if Democrats like Castro or Booker got their way and made crossing illegally not a crime overnight? No legal entry required for ANYONE coming over the southern border.

There would be 500,000 people flooding into the interior illegally every month. These people are dangerous, dangerous idiots.

Not just the southern border. We are talking about eliminating the VISA system altogether. Customs at airports in the US becomes basically obsolete. Anybody would just be able to get on a plane and come here legally without restriction from anywhere in the world and as long as they didn't have illegal fruits or vegetables then what authority would we have to stop them? I hate using the metaphor of "locking your door at night" in regards to immigration, but this is pretty much that exact thing in a nutshell.
