Dudee, those Octoberfest beers do suck. Sorry, they are very bland by design. Like drinking liquid cardboard. Here is a 'good' Octoberfest on beeradvocate that gets an 80, while even a crappy IPA gets an 87.

Man up and do the IPA's. It's the American thing to do.
