The first official visit weekend of the Scott Frost era has arrived with several prospects making their way to campus.
While this is the first official visit "weekend," the Knights did host at least two visitors earlier in the week. JUCO QB Jerod Evans was here on Tuesday and prep school DE Tai'yon Devers on Wednesday/Thursday.
Four prospects have been confirmed:
DE Traver Vliem - Midland (Tex.)
High School prospect. A target of the previous staff, Frost reached out this past weekend and an official visit was quickly confirmed. I caught up with him last Saturday afternoon and posted an interview that you can read at this link.
OL Christian Beard - Trinity Valley (Tex.) College
Junior college prospect with three years left to play three. A Waco, Tex., native who originally signed with Arkansas State, then transferred to Trinity Valley after a redshirt year. He was one of the many players new assistant coach Ryan Held visited this past weekend. He was offered on Tuesday and a visit was quickly confirmed. You can read that interview by clicking here.
DE Josh Odigie - Orange Coast (Calif.) College
Junior college prospect that was offered by UCF last Sunday, on the day he departed from his first official visit to Oregon State. The Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., native had 51 tackles, 12 TFL and four sacks this past season. His other offers include Colorado State, San Diego State and UTSA. It's believed he has two years left to play two. I was not able to connect with Odigie for a pre-visit interview.
DT DeQuinton Osborne - Kilgore (Tex.) College
Junior college prospect who began his career at Missouri, redshirting during the 2013 season and spending the past two years at Kilgore. The Grand Prarie, Tex., native was recently named the Southwest Junior College Football Conference Defensive Player of the Year with 33 tackles, four sacks and seven TFL. Others offers include Southern Miss, New Mexico and UAB. Purdue, Minnesota and Louisiana Tech have been involved.
This list may be updated as Tony Jones, a LB at Butler CC and originally from Lyman, just indicated moments ago he is visiting on Sunday.
