Ohio State players received 'around $20 million' in NIL, believed to be largest amount in college football

That is somewhat true, but all that money buys a lot of the top talent. Eventually college football has to go to the NFL model with salary caps and some rules to make it even.

In that situation, it drops to two conferences. They aren't going to instill rules and salary caps with 60+ teams. Premier programs are not going to subsidize programs that can't afford to keep up.

NIL...now income loaded. All scholarships are now income loaded with the new model. Surprised? It was only a matter of time that the money handed out under the table is now out in the open for all to see. When NCAA oversight is removed if it isn't already there will be both NIL and under the table money. Impossible to control this beast.

"The Ohio State athletics department brought in a record-breaking $279.5 million in total revenue in fiscal year 2023."

they should count themselves lucky with those labor costs.

It’s never been even. They don’t care if it is. It’s NIL. There are no rules for that in NFL either. Only to what the team pays guys. Mahomes can make 100 mil a year in NIL. Not in team salary.
