Marcus Tatum is back for his sixth season of college football.

The former Daytona Beach Mainland star, who was in the same graduating class as former UCF running back Adrian Killins (2016), began his career at Tennessee and transferred to UCF prior to the 2020 season, starting in five games last year. Thanks to the extra COVID year of eligibility, Tatum is back for one more. He's been making a move during the preseason, making a case to start at left tackle.

He made his UCF interview debut on Monday.

-Working with Herb Hand as OL coach, Tatum said he's "attentive to detail, cares a lot," and he "really appreciates him."

-The OL has to "keep growing" and "not plateau."

-Competition brings the best out of everybody.

-It's a competition every day.

-The main objective is to protect Dillon and the running backs.

-The DL is a "good group" with the transfers and Kalia Davis returning. It's a "battle" between the OL and DL.

-Dillon Gabriel is more vocal this year.

-All the RBs are working hard, no standouts.

-The team is doing a good job following COVID protocols.

-TE is a competition as well. They're getting pushed every day.

-A lot of new face and big plays from the WRs. Everybody is pushing each other.

-What would be the perfect way to finish your college football career at UCF? "A championship."
