The SEC, Big 12, Conference USA and Sun Belt have already had their media events. Big Ten and PAC-12 get underway this week.
So when is the American? Next Tuesday, the day before UCF and several other teams begins preseason camp.
And where is it? Providence, Rhode Island. I know the American is spread out geographically, but it really serves no point to have it there. Hartford, CT is about two hours away. The next closest school, Temple, is more than a five-hour drive.
It would probably make more sense to hold the event in Orlando/Tampa because of the proximity to two schools, or perhaps rotate the event with stops at the more prominent football schools.
