Bad play calling and not playing field position. We were playing against a grown up style offense. You think Frost could have slowed the high school express down a bit with the lead.

Offense stalled after the second quarter and defense I think was running on fumes. Why do you think Temple slowed the offensive tempo down? Thule knew his defense was gonna continue to stop us and he could just wear out our defense on offense. Brilliant play actually.

Frost obviously didn't have any answer once Rhule figured out how to shut us down. That being said we got so many dumb ass penalties over the course of the game. Last I saw was 10/110?

That being said, I agree with Happy that Frosty wasn't smart once we had the lead and wasn't gonna play the field position game which is exactly what you do if you can't move the freaking ball offensively.

12/110 was the final. This has been a consistent problem since the beginning of the season. Too many penalty killing drives for us or penalty extending drives for the other team. This squad is undisciplined.

You're delusional if you think anybody right now on the team is better than Milton and he's a freshman. He's not a five star kid that is gonna pick everything up. It's growing pains and get used to it.

And who on the team right now is more competent than Milton?

You're right, nobody is better on the roster. But that doesn't mean he's good. He's a WR playing QB. He throws a terrible ball. Sometimes he hits his passes, but most of the time he doesn't. Feel free to disagree, but that's what I see.

He is trash, really. But he is the "best" this program has. If he is starting next season then it will show that Frost can't recruit QB's.

I'm not ready to throw Milton under the bus yet he's a true freshman playing his second game...How many Div. 1 schools are looking for a QB. I feel like after the Fiesta Bowl the previous regime really stopped trying in recruiting. Look at Houston big wins and they are getting big recruits. We had won a Fiesta Bowl and 2 division championships and where were the recruits.

I can't even tell if you're serious. He had a bad second half. Mostly because we established no run game and the Temple defense was in his face.

2014 was a pretty good class. We got Smith and a lot of the current talent on defense. 2015 is too young to tell. That class is one of the one's making Frost look pretty good on defense, particularly Pittman. Something I'm afraid will change when GOL's recruit are gone.

Small things matter. On the last offensive drive we rushed to run a play on 2nd down instead of running out the clock. That cost us the game. Frost has to get better at clock management.

some people lack perspective. The kid has talent. Even Heisman finalist and upperclassmen Watson at times looked terrible today vs an NC State team that lost to ECU

No. 64-12 was worst coached game of all time.

A timeout was called after first and second down. The clock wasn't running.

Seriously they should have attempted a fg in the 2nd quarter instead going for it on 4th up 25 to 7. Temple scored on the next drive.

This coming from the guy who also said Blake Bortles was terrible. You only come around to rip QBs if we don't win. Milton will get better with experience and is dynamic.

Stick to your day job. Let the coaches do theirs.

Two critiques of Milton. 1- when he feels the pressure, he looks to run backwards. With speed rushers coming off the edge, our OT's are doing their best to just get those guys upfield and past the QB. Milton is often times scrambling right into the pressure. 2- not all that accurate with the ball. He often makes receivers lunge for balls when they are wide open, eliminating any chance for yards after catch.

All that aside, he did have some nice throws on the evening. Also, he is just a freshman playing in his 3rd game. Right now the game is probably being played at 100 mph for him. 3 or 4 more starts and the game will start to slow down for him. The loss was disappointing, but the team is still way ahead of schedule, IMO.

This. Add in the fact that we won't see a defense this good the rest of the year. I'm disappointed in the loss just as everyone is but I think we will be fine. After last year I will be happy going 6-6 and to a bowl. We are on pace to do that and maybe more.

Agreed. Please ban @PaulsDriveIn

Milton is a true freshmen he will be fine. He played well the first half but the line had him spinning the moment he got the ball. Also the play calling got very predictable the second half.

My question is why are we not getting the ball to smith more downfield? I know the pass protection was bad but every game this kid goes up and gets it. Disappointing lost for sure I thought it was ours.

So half the fans want to establish the run and the other half want to chuck it down field to Smith more often. You need an OL to do either. People do remember we were last in the nation in rushing last year right? We have a freshmen at RG and lost our LG in second quarter

Like frost said post game we have very close to being a good team and easily could be 5-1. We do have a strong core of freshmen I feel good about.

Ever since Temple's 2nd Q TD drive that made it 25-14...that was their beginning of their domination.

Here are the very telling 2nd half stats:

Time of Possession:
Temple: 21:05 (including 11:18 in 3rd Q alone)
UCF: 8:55

First Downs:
Temple: 14
UCF: 3

Total Yds:
Temple: 219
UCF: 101

Rushing:
Temple: 26 for 111 yds (4.3 yds per carry)
UCF: 14 for 14 yds (1 yd per carry, includes 4th Q results of 8 carries for ZERO yds. (Don't think Frost "believed" in Milton to throw the ball and WIN the game in 2nd half...especially with such pitiful rushing results)

Passing:
Temple: 8-14 for 108 (obviously includes 4-4 for 70 yds on last 31 sec drive)
UCF: 4-7 for 87 yds (one costly INT)

Penalties:
Temple: 2 for 15
UCF: 7 for 55 yds

NOTE: Since BHNS opened in 2007, has UCF ever lost an 18 pt lead in that stadium?

110 yds in penalties was the most ever for UCF since a 2005 game vs Tulane...and 1st time UCF had over 100 yds in penalties since a 2010 game vs Tulane as well.

Those are bad HS habits...as he probably was easily able to out run most defenders he played against...but against experienced college players...you can't do that...especially on a bad foot/ankle.

He has to learn to turn up field much sooner...as even a 1 yd gain is better than a 12 yd loss.

Not sure he would have played but if UCF could have played Tulane last weekend...I think it would have helped Milton immensely gain some valuable experience to face a tough Temple D.

Way too many penalties. Especially the 15 yd unsportsmanlike. Team needs more discipline. I appreciate the energy and new spirit, but discipline has to come along with that.

We have a rookie head coach, rookie OC and rookie DC, and it showed in the 4th quarter. Rhule is a good coach and he schooled them last night. Might be a case made for a first time HC hiring experienced coordinators, instead of the whole staff learning on the job.

Milton made the offensive line performance look worse than it was. As other poster said, his tackles were trying to push the speed rushers out and back, and every single time he would run backwards right into the pressure. He never adjusted to what was happening. He needed to step up and hit a hole or even dive forward. Those 15-yard losses were horrible. He was sacking himself half the time.

He seemed to re-injure his foot/ankle at least twice last night:

1) On his 63 yd TD run, he seem to go into an early celebratory jaunt around the 3 yd line and that split second slow down let the Temple player dive and grab his foot.

2) On a combined sack (I think in 3rd Q), Milton went down hard in that sack sandwich and basically needed help getting off the field as he was barely able to limp off.

After that, UCF called very little read option plays...as Frost seem to know how bad Milton was hurting, which seemed to hurt his confidence to move UP in the pocket (maybe end up with 1 or 2 yd gain) vs running backwards and losing major yardage.
