Opinion: UCF’s Gasparilla Bowl rings should fuel the 2022 Gators

Ruffling the feathers of the elite? We are the state's elite until proven other than history and "tradition"....or what "used to be a clear three-horse race". That's right...history, or what we knew of it. UCF is the future of college football and will continue to change the powers at be. College football is hungry for diversity, seeing new teams competing and winning against "traditional" powers, new energy, a new paradigm, and opportunities in competing at the very highest level. I'm elated to know the Gator writer spent countless hours digging up tweets and time spent on useless propaganda to promote UCF on the GatorWire, and for readers to call his BS. I laugh at the Billy Napier hype...sounds familiar w/the Dan Mullen, McElwain, Muschamp....it's the normal revolving door in Gainesville...and the story will continue with same ending.

Good one skidog291. Whole heartedly agree.

The equilibrium is slowly changing however but not there yet. I noticed on Orlando's media stations post coverage of Gator spring game on how the gators are going back to being an elite team. They dismiss that UCF beat the gators last year with a hobbled injured riddled team, with a freshman qb, and first year coach. UCF wasn't that good of a team last year either but somehow the gators have a better chance of returning to elite status with a new coach.

Just throw out reality and the scoreboard. Gators are the best team in the State in the media's eyes and they ridicule OR try to ridicule UCF's achievements.

However, I'll just keep stating, the last time UCF played BAMA, Georgia, Auburn, AND the Gators...UCF won. Eventually the press coverage will have to admit that UCF wins on the field and the press clippings can't change that fact.

Central Floridave- This part of your post might just get you nominated for Post Of The Year…

Orlando has been Gators home turf for some time for obvious reasons. It will take some time with winning big games in the BIG12 to start changing minds. We just have to win consistently which I predict we will do now that we are in the P5. Recruiting has been great this season.
