Not after last night's slaughter to a major regional and conference rival during a horrid season. Oregon has always been the party school of the northwest (Animal House was filmed there because it was the only college willing to let itself be associated with the movie most responsible for reviving the then dying Greek system). Oregon alums harbor fond memories and strong bonds with the school and it's unlikely stable of NFL starts. They love Helfrich. It would have to be more than one 'bad' season. The DC would be the sacrificial lamb. Think GOL era.
Yeah from what I've seen from their fans after Chip Kelly left they just wanted to go strictly star rating at QB and some other positions while Frost had a different opinion on some prospects. The Oregon fan base blamed Frost for not recruiting and developing QB's, because transfers kept winning the starting job. By all accounts Frost was overridden on which QB's would get offers (see MM), so he may not be too keen to return.
A slaughter like that hasn't happened since the Germans bombed Pearl HarborNot after last night's slaughter to a major regional and conference rival during a horrid season. I think the Pac12 is really that good this year. We don't see their late games and don't appreciate how deep that conference is. The California recruiting market is in some ways as good as Texas and Florida.I brought this up a week or so ago and I still think its a possibility. It is pretty crazy how far they've dropped this year, unless Washington is really that good.
I don't believe our OC and DC were at Oregon at the time of hire? I know for a fact that our OC wasn't. Our staff was built with people that Frost met over the years.UCF hired their 2 Best Assistants

If we win 6-8 games, no one is calling. If we win 10 games, EVERYONE is going to come calling.
We're not winning 10 games though.

Typical Bianchi, hyping up every story to get reads. There will always be top college FB jobs every because of the fact that the media and boosters have put unrealistic expectations on programs. If Frost can average 8 wins a year at UCF he will have his pick of jobs every year. Winning 8 games at UCF isn't difficult in the American. So it doesn't matter if Frost leaves after 2 years or 10 years, he will get a better job because UCF is set up to win in the American with our location, recruiting base, school/academic offerings.Bianchi thinks Frost will be getting Tom Hermann like offers after ONE conference win. Unbelievable. Can we go to a middling bowl game before you print the "Frost is leaving for a big job" article, Bianchi?
I 100% agree. If he goes to Oregon and fails, who's going to take him then? A mediocre P5 team or another G5 team.Typical Bianchi, hyping up every story to get reads. I personally think he would be an idiot right now to leave UCF for any job. First, he already said he doesn't want to go places where he can't recruit. Now I know Oregon has tons of money but it's still very hard to recruit there. If he leaves now he can't preach to any kid, asst coach, of fan base about loyalty ever again. He would be the biggest hypocrite ever. Also, even Nebraska isn't an easy place to recruit to any longer.
Another thing, Frost is a smart guy, I think he understands that if he takes on too big of a job early on in his head coaching career and fails he will be labeled a loser at a young age and likely never get opportunities for big coaching jobs again.
He needs to show he can build a sustained winner at UCF before he leaves. Because one or two good seasons isn't a track record. And honestly I think as long as we have the right leadership at president and AD like white I feel good about them making great coach hires where we stay a consistent winner.
Frost is doing ok so far but he still has a lot to prove to me. Win championships and then we can talk about how great he is.
