Thanks for posting. Anybody that thought this language was actually in GOL's contract is just uneducated and naive. No school is going to actually put in one persons contract that a different person would succeed them. When he leaves there will be a nationwide search for a coach. Current coaches may be included in that search. I don't know why people think otherwise. A scenario like Jimbo Fisher is an aberration and not the norm. The schools and circumstances are not even in the same galaxy (well, literally they are but you get my point hopefully). Could some ongoing, backroom chatter have occurred. Certainly, but the bottom line is GOL might have some input into the next coach but the decision will be made by Hitt and the AD.

He never had it. Everyone has just assumed this without any facts or actual talk coming out of GOL's, Hitt's or anybody else's mouth that matters. It's all just been heresay and speculation perpetuated by the likes of people on here. It was not and is not true. This site has almost become as bad as the gossip and rumors that go on in middle school.

I tend to think any power that GOL had was because of the results he was getting both on and off the field. I'm sure he's still respected for many of his accomplishments but it is tough to think the coach of a winless team would somehow be calling all of the shots for the entire program.

that's good...but how about in Key's contract? and btw, what does Key make anyway? isn't that public information?

His personality and coaching style just don't fit the present trend. If we don't right this ship soon, we will be forever on the outside looking in. Hitt is very aware of the importance of a new AD and head football coach more now than ever.
