OT Cristobal wins Rivals Recruiter of the Year

Having an A on his chest has just as much to do with his recruiting success as his recruiting abilities.

Mediocre coach before he got Rutger's cast-off QB and WR Hilton, mediocre coach after they left. 2 fair years of 15-11, 4 bad years of just 12 wins. Cristobal only won 1 more game his second year than the 2 years after him.

Yes, the good ol' days. They should name the field after him.

Gotta agree with you. I could recruit at Bama. He went 27-47 at FIU (with his best season being 8-5). I wouldn't say he lit the world on fire. I'd also not go too far the other way either. It is FIU afterall. You can only do so much at a program like that nowadays.

He may not have had outstanding records at FIU but they at least seemed to capture some fan support and had some energy in the program. His firing definitely hurt that program.
