Bianchi played a portion of the interview on his radio show this morning. He was a guest on Finebaum's show on the SEC Network. Any time that Bianchi mentioned anything that was the slightest bit negative about the SEC, Finebaum starting ripping on his journalistic skills and on the Orlando Sentinel in general. I realize Bianchi has been critical of UCF at times, but I think he's a relatively fair columnist and talk show host. I don't think he deserved to be treated that way by Finebaum. I realize Finebaum works for the SEC Network and is obviously going to be biased in their favor, but the guy made himself look like a complete you-know-what with the way he belittled Bianchi. SEC elitism at its worst. What do you all think?

It's not just the SEC. Do you follow any national reporters or other team beat writers on Twitter. Bianchi is kind of a running joke. Any time he has a ridiculous article, they all make fun of him publically.

There really is no such thing as bad publicity in drive-time sports radio. The fact that "national" reporters even know who he is says he is doing very well for a local show. Unfortunately, he uses too much buffoonery as part of his shtick. None the less, his show is the best drive-time sports content we have around here. Too bad he hasn't channeled the old [Pat] Clark and [Charles] Davis show. Maybe someday he will grow up.

Over the past year he has greatly improved his slant when he reports on UCF. I am glad for that.

I think Bianchi doesn't know what he's talking about and the #SEC is the greatest thing we've seen in a generation.

Finebaum is the worst SEC homer and apologist in the media. He just hides it well behind his calm demeanor. But I couldn't take more than 5 minutes of his radio show on XM during my commute home. I hate driving angry.

As for Bianchi, yeah, I listen almost every morning, but that's all we've got locally. Bianchi's problem is that he doesn't even believe half of what he spouts. Just like with his columns, he says things for the sole purpose of taking the other side to stir up conversation, and if he's lucky, controversy. Otherwise no one would listen to his show, or read his columns. He's just not that smart, so he has to fake his way into getting eyes and ears. This is why Marc Daniels totally blows away Bianchi as a talk show host. Marc is very thoughtful about what he says. He often presents a point of view on a topic that never occurred to me. That never happens with Bianchi's kindergarten comments.

I agree with you that Daniels is a better talk show host than Bianchi. I do think, though, that Bianchi doesn't try to favor any one particular school, team, whatever, when he covers sports. I think he manhandled Finebaum in the debate about Urban Meyer. All Finebaum had in response was to attack the Orlando Sentinel. As soon as Finebaum resorted to that tactic, Bianchi basically won the debate.

You have to consistently read and listen to Bianchi to understand that he's pretty fair across the board. He scrutinizes the gators just has much as he praises them. The SEC is so closed door that once you criticized then just once they emphatically bow up in defense, even after this lack luster season.

Finebaum is horrible. I am convinced he'd have Nick Saban's baby were it possible. He is not all that intelligent and simply spews whatever crap ESPN feeds him because he's too stupid to condense the material otherwise. He basically gets paid to rah rah the SEC throughout the course of the year as an on-air cheerleader, but again, he's far too stupid to realize that he's being used as a pawn in the process and actually thinks he's making a difference. He's a huge hit in remote areas of Alabama where folks can listen to him in their double wides/good old trailer-camp/tornado-bait white trash establishments and feel better about institutions they did not attend on their way to hourly jobs at a gas stations, McDonalds, or whatever strip clubs they currently grease the poles.

Bring back "Clarke and Davis". I gain a pound every time I think of Pat and The Cake Lady commercials. CD broke into broadcasting during his tenure. Gosh, I miss the hood ol days.

Finebaum, as everyone has touched on, is an SEC "tool". I can't take him seriously and don't waste my time listening to him unless it's accidental; same to be said of Bianchi. Bianchi being "the best of what Orlando offers" is an incredible slight against Orlando. Pat Lynch gives better sports insight when Bianchi is on the morning show with Lynch and Taco. I personally can't stand the type of "journalism" that guys like Bianchi, Woody Paige, and Skip Bayless employ. Those types of personalities have no beneficial function in normal society, why should they be on my TV or Radio? I know this is only my sentiment and not everyone sees it this way, if they did Bianci would've been fired years ago. It's embarassing that he represents this city in any fashion, let alone on a subject matter that I care about. Finebaum's useless, but Bianchi needs to go away.

Can you imagine if, say, Bianchi had a debate with Marc Daniels about a UCF-related topic, and Daniels started belittling the Orlando Sentinel? Daniels would probably receive backlash for it, and rightly so. Finebaum can take his elitist attitude and shove it.

Finebaum is a SEC shill. Nothing more. His mild mannered ways are appreciated more than listening to a narcissist like Rome.
That said I'd wish Bianchi would have some of Finebaum's callers though. Where's is our Phyllis from Mulga?

There is this one lady that calls Bianchi's show every now and then and flirts with him. I can't remember her name. She's kind of funny. Not sure why she would want to be with Bianchi, but I hope they find happiness together. LOL

I just want someone to call and rant about how UCF football is not dead if or when they lose to Stanford. they must mention..

1) we got 60k students
2) we got an on campus stadium
3) were 4 time conference champs
4) were 71-39 against the G5.
5)...and 2013 is not dead. Its just begun.

Then yell...Charge On at the end of the call.

I'll call and yell "Charge On!" when we beat them.

I cant listen to really nerdy ass dudes and take them seriously...I want a guy that looks like he played High School level at least...Finebaum doesnt pass the eye test .

Pittstoner, that was funny! I used to listen a few years ago to Bianchi because I had a sales job that had me driving all the time. I got sick of this guy quick, mostly because of what you stated. The guy has "little man's syndrome" and I seriously doubt if he has even ever played any level of football. He has this argumentative/condescending attitude and I can't stand him.

Football?

Heck...Bianchi got cut from the JV Ping Pong team at the local Y.
