So I’ve had some issue with blood in my urine recently and figured I was getting a kidney stone. About midnight Saturday, it decided to dance it’s way from my kidney to my ureter. And man was that painful. Had to go to the ER at about 2 in the morning and stayed until 7 or so. Got a CT scan and had a 5mm stone just out of the kidney. They gave me morphine to take care of the pain and Oxy to take home. I was hoping it would pass.

Last night the pain returned and went back to the ER where they admitted me to manage the pain. Talked to the Urologist this morning and he said there’s less then a 50% chance it would come out on its own so he wants to take it out this afternoon.

The only thing I’m worried about is the removal of the stent. Anyone here go through that and have any advice on getting it taken out?

Also, the business office came by and gave me the bill. Yikes! I have great insurance with a $3k cap thank god. The bill was $44,000 and gave them $1,000 and told me to bill me the rest. Only good thing about this is that I’ve hit my out of pocket for the year.
