With pre-season testing starting tomorrow I figured I’d start a new thread for this season.
Full schedule: https://www.formula1.com/en/racing/2024.html
First race: Mar 2, 10am
Just so we can laugh in a month here are my pre-testing predictions:
1. RBR - No surprise, I do wonder if we get a full season of Checo though
2. Ferrari - Lots of low hanging fruit that would move them past Mercedes, Fred’s had a full cycle to improve things
3. Mercedes - Lewis will be a lame duck and the team is likely still struggling from having so many key people poached the past couple years
4. McLaren - Huge momentum from last year and two very good drivers, I wouldn’t be surprised if they beat Mercedes
5. Williams - They were scrappy at times last year, add in lots of wind tunnel time and competent leadership. I think they go up the ranks this year
6. Aston - Very fast at times but can’t put it together consistently
7. Torro Rosso - New leadership and if either driver is knocking it out of the park they’ll be sitting next to Max
8. Alpine - probably another rough year for the French
9. Sauber - Another year of collecting sponsorship dollars
10. Haas - Just sell already
