Gundy on program culture in new NIL era, from The Athletic (and i agree with him):
“We’ve got plenty of young players that deserve an opportunity to play,” Gundy said. “We’ve got guys on second team who have worked hard and have practiced and deserve to get on the field and play. Then we’ll decide if they’re at the level that we need them to be. If we never put them out there and let them get a chance to play and we keep using the portal, then why would you want to put any long-term effort into this program?
“If you’re here and you put your two or three years in and you’re up next, you deserve a chance to play. And then if for some reason it’s not good enough, we can make an adjustment. But if we keep trying to bring other guys in and throw guys in front of guys who have paid the price, are you going to ruin the culture of your program?”
