He was good for them but I think they just decided it was time to move on. Sort of like Gus. Might prove to be a big mistake.
Also it's crazy how many coaches are getting fired so early in the season now.
I remember reading someone put it as "he could no longer feed the beast he created."I think it contributed to Steve Spurrier leaving Florida, IMO.
Someone who likes $10s of millions of dollars and a shot at the title if you have a good season.Who would want to coach in such a pressure cooker ?

Hehe yes, let's not pretend that these guys don't make lifetimes of money even when they lose all their games and get fired and bought out. It's good work if you can get it.Someone who likes $10s of millions of dollars and a shot at the title if you have a good season.

Same message I got from a Rutgers friend that obviously follows Big 10 more than I do. Seems like they really like him and he's been waiting in the wings so-to-speak. Don't know him as a coach, but remember him having a few great years under Rex many moons ago.I follow them closely and I definitely think it was a good opportunity to promote Jim Leonhard instead of most likely losing him next year. While he is interim, I fully expect him to get the HC job full time for next year.
