The My Safe Florida Homes program is where the state of Florida offers up to $10,000 matching funds for hurricane improvements to your home. I have gone through the whole process to replace my windows, a pre-windstorm inspection, contractor selection, window installation, county inspection, post-windstorm inspection and uploading of all associated documents. However, I can't seem to get the documentation I need (see below) out of my insurance company. They say there is a note from the underwriter that the inspection was considered and no adjustment made (that's another issue) but they say that is internal and they won't send me an email or anything indicating that. They say I have to get it from my agent. I have sent emails and left call back requests with my agent but they have yet to get back to me.

How can I get this information? What is my recourse with the insurance provider and/or agent?

The My Safe Florida Home Program requests the following information to complete our review of yourDraw Request:

Proof of insurance premium discounts, if any. Acceptable documents include:
The renewal insurance Declarations page that was uploaded is insufficient documentation as it does not indicate it was generated following a review of your Final Inspection Report conducted on 11/5/24. This is typically reflected by an “Issued Date” or “Effective Date” that is after the Final Inspection date and/or a note that states the Final Inspection Report was reviewed. Please reach out to your insurance agent to either obtain this updated Declarations page or to request they send you an email that explains the amount of any credits/discounts, if any, that will be applied following review of your Final Inspection Report. (Email must display date email sent, name and company information of the insurance agent, and the agent’s email address.)

1. A new declarations page that reflects any new discounts received
2. An email from your insurance provider stating the amount of discounts received, or that discounts will not be applied
3. A quote from an insurance provider showing either the amount of discounts or a new premium
4. A letter from your insurance provider stating the amount of discounts received, or that discounts will not be applied

NOTE: It is acceptable if your insurance premium increased or did not change. Please provide documentation of any premium changes after sharing your final inspection report with your insurance provider.
