Ok so I know I'm relatively new to this board compared to some but I figured I'd reach out to yall about a company my father-in-law and I are trying to get off the ground right now. The company is called Mad Hops and we will sell flavored Brew Drops that will turn any beer into a "craft beer." The drops are made from our own hop yard in Naples, NY
and once we go to market we will initially sell 6 flavors: Irish Porter, Cherry Wheat, Wild Blueberry, Apple Amber, Pale Ale & Mexican Lime.
I don't consider myself to be a snobby beer taster guy (I normally drink Bud Heavy, bud light, miller light, etc.) and never really got into the craft beer craze because I couldn't justify spending $7+ on a beer when cheaper ones will do the job just fine but this idea intrigued us. It basically allows you to buy a regular beer and turn it into whichever type of craft brew you prefer with a few squirts. The "squirter" (I laugh every time I write that lol) is just like the Mio water flavor "squirters" (haha) you currently can buy in stores like Publix. To enhance your beer all you do is put as many or as few flavor drops as you'd like in the bottom of your glass/cup and then simply pour the beer in.
The first thing that popped into my head with this idea is tailgating at UCF games! I can't tell you how much money I've spent on stupid ciders, limerita's, etc because my wife refuses to drink from the 1,000 Bud Heavy's or PBR's we have in the cooler for the guys and then she doesn't even drink them all! Well now all my wife has to do now is bring whichever flavor(s) she wants in her purse and can turn whatever beer we're drinking into a more enjoyable one. Also could make beer pong more interesting by flavoring each cup differently!
Over time more flavors will be released like vanilla, coffee porter, etc. I'm trying to convince him that a Citronaut orange beer would be marketable lol.
I know the "beer snobs" will probably hate us because it takes the adventure of picking out microbrews and because "you're still just drinking a PBR!?" will be shouted but if you're just a casual beer drinker who sometimes gets tired of drinking bud light after bud light after bud light then this stuff works great! We are currently still in the final stages of pre-production/funding but I'm not looking for any money/handouts from yall, all I want to do is to get the word out for you to go "like" us on Facebook and check out the web page at www.gomadhops.com in order to be aware when we finally go to market! This will be my first and last post about this since this is a UCF sports message board. Charge on and drink up!
