This is how messed up this year's bowls are. 77 bowl-eligible teams for 80 spots. So they let 5-7 teams in to fill out the last three by APR rank. Some declined, but Nebraska, Minnesota, and San Jose State did not. However, the ruling allowed those 5-7 teams be considered as part of the regular bowl pool, meaning they could be picked over 6-6 (or better) teams and fill conference primary or secondary ties.
Well, that has resulted in The new bowl in Tuscon being filled by two teams from the same conference - the MWC - Colorado State and Nevada will play in this game. Nobody wanted to switch spots with them to avoid this and they're upset. What's sad is that the MWC is one of two conferences that will have a 5-7 team play in a bowl game, yet they're mad that 5-7 teams are allowed because it screws them. LOL.
