Oregonian:
Stansbury signed a contract with OSU in June 2015 extending through June 2020. The contract obligated Stansbury to pay the university his base salary for the remaining years of the contract should he choose to leave early.
According to court documents, when Stansbury resigned in December 2016, he owed OSU $2,107,778. The documents say he made payments through July of this year.
At that point, documents allege, the payments stopped. Documents allege Stansbury still owes the university $1,513,262.97, which includes the original amount owed plus interest.
“As a state university, we feel it is important to conclude the contractual obligations Oregon State University and Todd Stansbury agreed to,” OSU spokesman Steve Clark said.
