Has anybody used the online passport renewal option?
My passport does not expire until 8/2025. I am traveling to Portugal in Feb/2025. I read online that my passport has to be valid at least 90days after my travel, so I am fine there. I am trying to decide should I try to renew now, they say it should not take longer than 6-8 weeks or wait until I get back. I am concerned that if anything goes wrong with the renewal I may not get it back in time. I am also concerned that with a new administration may come new passport regulations so it might be harder to renew after. (Not a political statement, just a concern, if state department ends up busy with other stuff it could slow the passport process down).
