UC's Nippert Stadium, 5th oldest in the country, is almost complete with their 20 month renovation project.

Nippert Stadium opened in 1924 with an initial capacity of 12,000 seats.

In 1954, it was expanded to 28,000 seats.

In 1992, it was expanded to 35,000 seats.

While a huge portion of the project was the dismantling of their old Press Box/Suite Tower that is being replaced with a much larger 5,000 premium seating area (suites, clubs, loge boxes, plus new press/media team facilities).

This renovation will also help increase Nippert's seating capacity from 35,000 to approx 40,000.

Also, much of the concourse area on the other side was also renovated as well.

UCF of course will be playing at this newly renovated stadium on Halloween Night.

Here are some before and after/current photos. (Note: Most of their stadium is still just bleacher seating without seat back benches)

Looks nice, but their stadium maybe a weak link. They have no expansion capacity after this, and 40,000 seats may not be enough for the B12.

In regards to BHNS, everyone knows about the ESC being built...but another project is also taking place this summer: sandblasting and powder-coating of all exposed steel inside the stadium, plus the scoreboard support poles, etc...
