So our family got a free wildlife experience this morning. Got to Shepard Park around 8AM and set up, started wading into the water. I was about waist deep when next thing I know a shark pops up maybe 4 or 5 feet in front of me swimming left to right. Stayed calm, kept eyes on him, backed out slowly, and he eventually swam off.
We waited about an hour, no sign of our friend, everyone gets back in the water. I was playing with my daughter on the shore while my wife headed out to deeper waters to cool down. She was about thigh high in the ocean when this guy popped up again right between her and the shore. I snagged our toddler because she was trying to to see what the commotion was about, and my wife calmly curved her way around him to safely exit the water.
Needless to say, despite the scrubbed launch, still got to see some interesting action.
I didn't get a clear look at his face but was able to snap a photo afterwards, anyone have an idea of what kind of shark this could have been?
