During NFL's Salute to Veterans Weekend Ceremonies...Tampa Bay Buc WR Mike Evans decided to kneel during the anthem to protest the election results...an election where he admitted he DIDN'T BOTHER TO VOTE IN.

He did not tell the Bucs in advance of his actions...so the Bucs rushed out a statement afterwards:

 
And this is why NFL ratings are in the tank and will continue to slide for the remainder of the season. First off, it's not like the PA announcer said "please stand and remove your hats in honor of President-elect Donald Trump." No, it was an acknowledgement to the veterans that have sacrificed ..... therefore his "protest" was completely off base.

Secondly, this a s s wipe didn't even bother to vote so who the f is he to complain about the person that was democratically elected by a majority of voters in a majority of states?

True.

While slightly different..did those at the game hear the "dig" by the Marching Knights Announcer/MK Alum/Educator when he concluded the Bands Great Halftime Performance that honored all 5 Branches of the Military and all of their veterans...when he closed with "and no matter what happens, we are still the United States of America".

Other MK Alums and his friends noted it was a dig at Trump (well, anyone heard it knew it was a dig at Trump) and it served ZERO purpose at the time and it was an insult to the very veterans the Band just honored.

It is rude and disrespectful to start off. The one time we are supposed to put aside our differences and spend two minutes acting respectful isn't much to ask.

Your candidate didn't win ( and you didn't vote), so you're disrespecting the veterans and the country. Screw him!

So is farting in public. I've never spent any time watching what other people are doing while I sing the national anthem. He's not bothering you, so don't bother him.

Actually i agreed with everything you said until you said trump was "elected by a majority of voters." Maybe you meant the electoral college. Anyway i agree the protest of the national anthem for grievances that the national anthem doesn't represent makes no sense to me. From now on, every time my neighbor lets his dog crap on my lawn I am going to kneel in protest for the next National Anthem I hear.

Thank God for the Electoral college. Otherwise, California would decide on every president.

Ahem, as I stated in my original post "who the f is he to complain about the person that was democratically elected by a majority of voters in a majority of states?"

Now, let us do some simple math.

1.) Donald Trump won 30 states out of 50 . . . numerically, once you pass the halfway point of 25 states you then have the majority. Therefore: winning 30 of 50 states constitutes "a majority of states."

2.) In order to win a state, a candidate must win the popular vote in that state. Therefore he won "a majority of voters in a majority of states"

Not sure how you can disagree with plain and simple facts, but I digress.

The scum like him needs to be shown the border and kicked out. Its a disgrace this has been allowed to go on as long as it has. Time to make an example of him and others who follow his traitor displays of disrespect to our country.

Exactly! if he doesn't like this country he can exercise his right to leave it. What amendment is that??? Buy Felecia. I hear that European, Canadian, and Russian football leagues are now paying equivalent salaries to the NFL.

I'll buy 4 Felecias. You guys are drama queens. He's sitting, not disrespecting or disrupting anybody. In fact, there are 2 other people sitting behind him in the pic. 2-3 years ago NFL players didn't stand for the National Anthem, there was no outrage then. You know who also sits, runs and practices during the anthem? Our UCF Knights. I hope that you are this critical of the people around you who talk and are disruptive in the stands during the anthem. There are much bigger issues in the world, please focus on those.

I'll focus on this. Thank you. He's a ghetto POS and that's my opinion. That's what I'm focusing on here. It's a sports blog (and I'm not even the OP) and my other opinions about things will surely focused on in a different forum. Not here.

My opinion about Anthem sitting is shared by the majority and not the minority. Especially in regards to Mike Evans stupid reasoning. It has nothing to do with sitting or not harming anyone. You just don't get it, and that's fine. It's not my job to change your opinion, convince you, or give you the history lesson that you obviously missed or don't give a crap about.
 
I ordered no tomatoes on my Chick-fil-a grilled chicken sandwich. Guess what? It had tomatoes!!! So you can be damn sure I'm not standing for the next national anthem.
 
This America. There is no law requiring you to stand or be respectful during the NA. But if you don't vote you can't really complain about the outcome of the election with any real credibility.

I get it. I probably know more history than you. I don't agree with Mike or how he chooses to express himself but it's his right to protest. He has a right to his views and you have a right to yours. In a country of 320 million people we are not all going to agree.
