Has anybody else noticed this? In the pocket of the Orlando area I frequent, there's like 10 brand new self-serve car washes with "free vacuums" that have popped up over the last six months/year. And I can probably count the same amount of car wash "coming soon" signs.
I got a free coupon in the mail to try the new Octopus self-serve in Winter Springs the other day so I gave it a shot. The goal is to get people to sign for the monthly unlimited plan with automatic billing. I think it starts at $20/month and goes up from there, all based on the stuff they'd squirt on your car as it goes through the machine.
I'm guessing this concept has been sold as a profitable cash cow, but I'm thinking the market is going to become quickly saturated. Anybody have the intel?
