From Top Ten to bottom-of-everything national laughing stock in just two years. Jeez...

Curious -- just how bad is this in I-A/FBS history? Has there ever been a similarly stunningly rapid decline comparable to ours?

What sucks is that it takes longer to climb out of a pit than to fall in. Our total collapse may have only taken a couple of years, but the hit to our reputation, recruiting and respect will probably take a decade to overcome.

I don't think we're talking about a decade long recovery. Keep in mind, we were able to accomplish what we did with GOL, and from everything I've been reading about Hitt and White, I think we are all expecting to build a better program with all the new staff coming our way.

The highs here clearly outweigh the luls. We may be embarrassingly bad, but both fans and pundits are shocked by our teams recent performance, especially considering our relativly newfound "winning tradition". We suck now, but to me the situation feels closer to 3 steps forward, 1 step back.

Give me a break! It's more like a step forward after 2013 and a giant leap backwards after this year. It took a decade after GOLs first winless season to become a BCS winner. It is going to take a decade or longer with the power 5 getting stronger.
