Pac 12 in danger of eventual collapse (CBS)

Big 12 is well positioned for this mass exodus, lets see if Brett Yormark can capitalize. I'm not not too excited that our media consultant Endeavor reps Big 10 too??

This will be Yormark's fist big test, lets hope he can flex his big media credentials "This conference is no longer going to be stagnant" and prevails. The Big 12 AD's brought him in to rebrand the league, I'm cool with him taking a shot in the dark and see where it takes us.

Lets say this happens. The Big 10 expands to 16, and then to 20. The real question is what does the SEC do? They could go to 20 by adding 4 ACC schools, assuming they could get out of the GOR. If that happened, would the Big 12 be able add the 4 corner schools and 2 ACC schools. Or would it be better to add 2 of the 4 corner schools (Utah and Arizona) and 4 schools from the ACC (NC STate, Louisville, Va Tech and Pitt)? IMO, the east coast and midwest are college football friendly. The further west you go, not as much. Adding Colorado and Arizona St while missing out on two of the better ACC programs would be a mistake in my opinion.

Ahhhhh, yeah well when you’re trying to be a conference killer you gotta take what you can get. In this case, it’s the 4 corner schools. Would we as a fan base in a perfect world want any 4 “get-able” ACC schools instead (any combo of Louisville, Pitt, NC State, VT, GT, Miami, etc), of course we as UCF fan’s secluded in the SE we all would. Unfortunately that isn’t reality, stop being delusional usf….the 4 corners of the Pac12 are seemingly available or will be, you take that and call it a day as the 3rd best conference. Maybe snag 2 of the best available from the ACC once that is available (2036?)? I personally would like Louisville/Miami (FSU is going SEC when this happens). Backup would be Louisville with Pitt/GT or NC State.

Doubt Miami. They would do anything in their power to go to the SEC and because they are so beloved from their accomplishments from over 3 decades ago and are (still) so overrated and talked by by the talking heads I'd believe it to (that they'd go to the SEC). Clemson/FSU/Miami gone. Idk what Miami's viewership is (I know their attendance is very poor), but with how popular the city of Miami has been over the last 2-3 decades, I cant see the city of Miami accept anything lower than SEC for it's college team (if Clemson/FSU go).

Could realistically see any combo of the following go to B12 if B12 does indeed poach some of the PAC12 members: Louisville/Pitt/Virginia/VT/Georgia Tech (Louisville-Cinci reunited, Virginia-WVU-VT-Pitt-GT keep rivalries).

But what do I know.

Adding the four corners adds name brand state schools, but football wise ASU, AZ, and CU are absolute dumpster fires. In basketball AZ is a top tier program but other than that the other schools aren't anything special. While the ACC contract holds things up, I'd rather look east to give us closer neighbors and potentially more meaningful rivals. Even now going into the B12 its going to be pretty hard to do road games, and I'm still convinced we are cursed playing in that part of the country cough cough tulsa.

So this Grant of rights thing. Dont conferences only get the tv revenue from home games? If Clemson wanted to leave they could play mostly away and neutral site games for the length of their contract to skate around this. Eventually the ACC would just ask for a buyout because they won’t be making much money when Clemson plays 2 true home games a year against FCS and Sunbelt teams.

Big 12 prez brought him in. The AD's had little to do with it, other than advice.

So since we're in a class that's at least two years ahead of PAC 12 newcomers, I hope they take it on the chin a little more on the graduated share of revenue. Their circumstances for departure are also different. They need us more than we need them

Graduated share of revenue won't be the same for them as for us. They will come in better than we did. I disagree who needs whom more. I could be wrong though. It just seems like the big-name places always do better regardless of the actual facts about their programs.

BRING in the CORNER schools and lets work to being the third best conference in the country (football) and maintain the BEST basketball conference in the nation!!

Case closed.

Yea, I'm sure everyone rooting for Clemson will jump on this idea, particularly the coaches who's livelihood depends on their record. (Numbnuts)

Its called getting out and doubling or tripling money. Them playing in Atlanta or Carolina stadium for “away” games would still have large orange crowds. FSU playing in Citrus or Jacksonville for a few years to double or triple money in long run is just like spending money to make money. If UCF could get invited to SEC or B1G and just had to play in Citrus for a few years it would be a no brainer.
