Painful endIng to a terrible season

I hit the tv on pause (DVR) during that clock mess up with a minute to go. then went outside to do something and came back in and the TV didn't save the ending due to it switching channels. Now I'm thinking I'm glad I didn't see that final minute.

Son called with work grief. Time well spent. Didn't see the last 20 seconds either. At one point in the second half, Donnie had his "doghouse" so packed with players tonight sitting there sullenly that the announcers criticized the bench for not yelling that the clock had wound down. Poor A.J. and Tacko played their hearts out and left it all out there on the court. A.J.'s best game! Announcers description said it all: "UCF sleepwalked through the first half."

21 turnovers. Goodbye coach!!!
Donny's a fine recruiter and a lousy coach on and off the court. Unlike Speraw, who thought he had another year to produce, Jones cannot make the argument. Many of the players seem to hate him now -- just shows from the body language. The one thing I can say for Jones is that, unlike our recently fired football coach, Donnie never trashed his players publicly. He was too classy to embarrass his kids in front of friends and family. He's a gentleman.

Any bets on the time of the announcement of a coaching search?
My stopwatch is running. Our new A.D. doesn't waste any time, does he? And he can't in this market. Now that UCF athletics has hit rock bottom, I hope he cleans house of all the mediocre athletic department hanger-ons, too. Also sad that the assistant basketball coach from Harvard is unlikely to be retained under a new hire.

It's sad to say it, but "what a great loss". Couldn't have been any better; two point loss and 21 TO's.

If you're Danny White and one of your top priorities is to have a men's basketball program that alumni and donors are excited about, then this loss probably sealed the deal. You had the AAC tournament in your backyard, the chance to generate some buzz and support, and you lost to the lowest seed in the tournament with a 10-21 record. Couldn't even get out of the first round. Didn't even give the program the chance to pull in fans for a Friday quarterfinal (or Saturday semifinal if you could pull the upset). So beyond an objective review of the record the past 3 years -- 13-18, 12-18, 12-18 -- this loss was a PR disaster and massive wasted opportunity for the program.

Reactions: Stormthecourt?
While I think the change was needed for both parties, I do think Jones caught a bad break losing the 2 PGs before the season. Who knows if the long list of close games would have been wins. He created the victory club, beat Florida, beat #5 uconn, beat Miami 2x, and beat Memphis. So he did have good moments here.

Looking forward to see what is coming next though. Be interesting to hear names.
