Reginald Payne will never forget his first offer.
It came last Wednesday when UCF defensive line coach Lorenzo Costantini dropped by Tate High School near Pensacola and indicated to his coach the Knights were prepared to offer Payne, a wide receiver, along with his quarterback Sawyer Smith.
