Agree. If they handled the weapon negligently resulting in him getting hold of it, the. Glad they were charged. If the did everything that they could to teach him gun safety and secured the weapon and monitored his state, then I hope this isn’t a political persecution. Either way, I’m sure the court will figure it out.

At some point, after he is given the death penalty or multiple life sentences and his parents are held accountable for their roles in this, then maybe we can find out the motive and at some point address the factors that cause these kids to go off the rails so tragically.

There was a time that police departments put School Resource Officers into schools expressly to gain intel on potential crimes and threat. In those days, something like this might very well have been brought to the attention of the SRO.

Of course, nowadays, we’re so worried about kids getting a record for the crimes that they commit that SROs are prohibited from doing police work and are reduced to being security guards. If they even have police and not private security (which was the case in this school).

Again and again, we reap what we sow.
