There's more of it than ever on the FBS and FCS levels. We're just another victim of it. We'll be ok. Just a bit of positive optimism.

I didn't know about this year. No one did. The "Rebuilding" v. "Reloading" commentary was already out there.

Clearly ... we're gonna suck this year. FIU suggested that. Stanford ensured it with yet more losses. Furman was the cake. So my question is, as it was at the start of the year ...

Will our "Rebuilding" lead to anything next year?

If it doesn't, it means GoL has failed us. We've always had a winning program after a "Rebuilding" year. But others were already speculating that was the case with 0-1 against FIU, and that we needed to change immediately, like a teenager who is sick and tired of his parents.

I'm willing to take a yo-yo, like before. Others are not.

I thought it would die down after 3 straight titles, even putting the chance BCS game -- and win -- aside. But it's only gotten worse with the increased expectations. The idea that we should be better than Boise, who has a record that is already probably the best ever for a G5 in the modern, ad-driven monetary era of endorsements and boosters.

I envisioned even in a full blown rebuilding year maybe a 4-5 win season when looking at this schedule. Maybe GOL can still manage that if the young players grow up quickly and we get Holman back soon, but he's blown the 2 gimme games of the year already with no progress through 3 games played. Does the yo-yo have to dip so damn low?? Let's see some progress, please!

Indeed. I think no one expected to be here after 3 games, rebuilding or not. As I said, it's a wet dream for the anti-GoL crowd.

Disagree. Furman beating UCF was not a good example of parity. We got beat by a bad FCS team that had a bad game themselves. Pitiful. I do agree however with the underlying message that FCS squads know how to bring it too, and it's ridiculous to think just because a squad is FCS means they suck and can't compete with kids that are typically bigger and stronger.

Furman "had a bad game" because our defense is pretty good. They just got tired late, because our offense was constantly stalling.

It is very sad when a FBS offense cannot move the ball much on a FCS defense for a full half. I have never shied away from admitting that, we really have serious execution issues on offense.

Not something that is solved by a "no huddle," which could only make it worse when they don't execute.

I mean, I remember the days of Coach K's "no huddles" and going 3-and-out, losing by massive and I mean massive scores against the opposing teams. They weren't always BCS either.

Massive scores like 64-12? Maybe 43-7 to a MAC school? How about 42-0? No? Then 52-7? Okay, maybe you mean 58-13 or 49-19 against CDOA talent?

The worst losses I could find with coach K (you know, the guy making 1/10th GOL's salary) was either 35-7 to Purdue, 46-14 to VTech or 46-13 to ASU. I didn't see any 64-12 losses to our rivals, or blowouts to conference talent. Even if I did, however, it would be more excusable. Coach K made no money, had no money to pay coordinators, played in the Citrus Dump when it was seriously a dump and overall just didn't have a university that wanted to get serious about football. Now they do and we get similar results for waaaaaaay more money.
