I really like Payton and am glad he is returning kicks. Akins seems like a good leader and caught the ball well, but other than big strides, he seemed to lumber up field on returns. Payton is fast and accelerates quickly. He is going to be a good one for us.
Gibson is our next star in the secondary. I wish I could have seen more of his coverage skills, but he seemed to be all over the place and could tackle in the open field.
These are two guys that other programs wanted and we got. Hopefully we can win more of these recruiting battles and sprinkle in our hidden gems (cue Auggie's Diamond Miner pic). This may be a long season, but we have some players that are setting us up nicely for the future.
