I wonder what they think about themselves when they get home. Post some opinions, insult other posters, trash talk a bit. When they lay down to go to sleep, what do you think goes through their mind? Can a person completely numb themselves from the responses and honestly be happy posting in the WC? 🤔

But seriously, wouldnt it be more fun to genuinely just commit to discussing interesting shit? Sure some people won't choose to engage that way but why can't everyone else simply ignore those folks?

Tried it for the first 3 years after our God Emperor was elected and made america great again.

These people just don't live in the same reality as the rest of us.

I’m good with that unless it results in PIIHB in every thread.

What the heck do you do when you try to have an honest conversation but nobody else is willing to?

We've had a few good ones. There was one about the United Methodist Church's proposed split a while back that had some really good stuff from a number of posters in it.

But typically, if a thread discussion starts to show potential, we get the inevitable "whaddabout" or personal insult because posters aren't willing to step back from the issue at hand and look at it objectively without discussion points being considered personal attacks. (And the throwing out of personal insults from both sides certainly doesn't help the situation.)

Guess we'll have to just keep plugging away with hopes of someday hitting the "Great Discussion" Powerball.
