Perhaps 0-12 is a good thing?

If O'Leary went 2-12 or 4-12, there is a good chance that he may stick around, thinking he can turn the program around and maybe stay another year or two; further denigrating our recruiting classes. While I value everything GOL has done for the program and think a statue is definitely in order - I think 0-12 has the potential of being turned around into a good thing. This could be the start of a new era for the program. With Big 12 inclusion, it would be much easier to start the slate clean and put quality people in power positions (HC, OC and DC) to take this program to the next phase in its football evolution.

I agree that 2-10 doesn't erase the fact that change needs to be made, but hopefully its the catalyst to cause GOL to realize that his recruiting has been negatively impacted and that the cupboard can't be refilled while he remains HC. I hope this season can at least be swallowed with a win against USF but if not - hopefully something good comes from going 0-12 like change.

I hope Hitt and the new AD are smart enough to realize that regardless big picture that it's the perfect time for a change. This isn't year 1-3 under GOL, he's had over a decade and set backs this bad should not be happening then you add to that he is going on 70 years old. Let a new guy bring in 25 of his own guys to get this thing headed in the right direction.

If we win a game or two it will recycle the lets fire GOL clock back to step one according to some of his supporters. GOL needs to lose more consecutive games so we can smother them with valid facts into submission. His last chance with me was against South Carolina. If he couldve won that game and collected a winning season i wouldve been fine with that. I'll be rooting for the Knights to beat the Bools, but if they lose it will only serve as more proof that GOL needs to be shown the door and while were at it, an informal notification to Dr Hitt of his unsatisfactory handling of this poor football season should be submitted too. #firegol #arrestdrhittnonotreally

Again, I predict GoL will stick around after 0-12, but we're still 0-4 or 1-3 with 3 really bad losses into next year, and he will be gone. I just don't see us pulling out of this rut, not until 2017 when our last, 2 great recruiting classes are upperclassmen.

But I could be wrong.

that would be a complete mismanagement by UCF to do that. So have him bring in another underwhelming Recruiting class this winter only to have him fired 4 weeks into 2016? All that would do is make it even harder for the new coach

Yep and kill next season and recruiting class.

Yea. We'll get the number 1 pick and rebuild through the draft.
