Maybe UCF should be the best of the rest after improving and regaining strength in a couple years.
I am now of firm belief that unless the ink is already dry, UCF will not be a part of BIG 12 expansion with the number of schools that have longevity and tradition over UCF. I reference the exodus from the athletic staff and the drop in recruiting.
Also, it looks like the AAC, overall, is rocking some of the P5s...so there is also a chance of a perception change to allow the AAC an auto-bid. I also believe the playoffs will go to 8. The system of only 4 just won't last. I think this is also why conferences may be dragging their heels. You are already seeing the Big 10 "declaring" G5 schools as P5.
The formula has been working great for Boise State with lesser amenities. Maybe our success is better achieved by taking a page out of their book. Seeing that we suck for now, it shouldn't be hard to schedule body-bag OOC games anymore...
