Players talking about differences bet. Frost & GOL

You can say that again. Gone from a "suck it up and play through it to get tougher" approach. Now, players are an organic machine that requires physical and psychological sustenance to reach and maintain peak performance. Rather than bemoan the lack of leaders, the camaraderie and player empowerment encourages leaders to emerge. It's like a Google culture has replaced Big Blue IBM.

The only thing that really seems to be a big change is there is more science involved. Apparently, GOL didn't follow the last 5 decades of advancement in sports science and the newer thoughts on how the body works best. "Just do it" instead of knowing why etc. The coaches also seem to be doing a good job of being coaches, not dictators, but in every clip I've seen it's not the "foxes running the hen house". The coaches certainly are right in their face, "teaching". Sometimes, you actually do have to keep up with advances, otherwise you're home with your telegraph learning Morse code.

The best statement on this subject was in a CBS Dodd article on Frost :
Frost: I don't believe on building on what the previous guy did.
Dodd: And that's all we'll say about O'leary.

How can Killings as a freshman make a fair comparison of Frost and GOL?

it's Rust Belt vs Silicon Valley

Anyone that's into Sport Science, personal training, etc will be interested in following this strength coach and coaching staff. It's not all about power & putting up the most weight

But it's also coaching philosophy and mindset. GOL: Get them used to the heat and humidity the first week. Outside to swelter until thunder forced everyone inside each day, wasting time and not making the expected progress. Each subsequent day: same procedure. Unable to install whole playbook or finalize the depth chart. Result was ritual of starting seasons with the QB who was yanked within 3 games. Frost: indoors the first week to bond as a team, teach and get the plays down, observe strengths at each position.

You may get death if you go by how the offense is playing now.
If the offensive line isn't clicking together, Frost may be forced to insert one or more of his true freshman recruits. There may be a couple of returning linemen who cannot truly buy-in to the system or are damaged goods from playing through the horrors of last year.

As someone who was at practice everyday, this did not occur. They ran off tackle right, off tackle left over and over until they got it right.

Dude, lay off the sauce as your non factual rambling is embarrassing.

UCF was never forced "inside" EVERY DAY, or even close to it.

But when danger weather was in the area or if UCF had a road game at stadium with artificial turf, they were able to utilize the indoor practice facility.

Now that Danny White was able to add A/C to the practice facility, that's another recruiting tool that can help attract recruits in the future too.

they have different philosophies for sure. Frost is definitely new school high tech and GOL was old school tough it out. I like the new philosophy as it make sense, but as of yet nobody knows how that will play out at game time. It also make sense that the uptempo game would require a more controlled cooler environment at first. In the end they are going to have to play an entire game in near 100 degree temps. It will be interesting to see how they hold up.

The other team will have to play as much as we do. We are going to win some games on conditioning.

I hope you are right. I hope by game time they have had enough exposure to be better suited to lasting the entire game

The way perennially-ranked dynasties work is when half your games are blowouts, allowing 3rd stringers and freshmen to regularly get lots of game experience as well as to rest your starter and avoid injuries. That used to only be possible with massive lines to wear down opponents. The P-5 recruiters vacuum up all the big agile linemen on offense and superhuman DEs in the nation. The key to a Frost system is you tire rivals out rather than wear them down with power and muscle.
