Man, we had some close ass calls in the late 90's - early 2000's with Daunte and Ryan Schneider though. That OT game in Oxford, MS especially.

That's not bad considering who we've played and most of them on the road or nuetral site.

Since 2008....these are the only home games out of those games: Miami (L), NC State (L), Boston College (W), Mizzou (L), South Carolina (L), Maryland (L). Only 6 out of those games were at home.

Shoot, I remember watching the "Gene McDowell Show" on channel 9 back in the late 80's.

For all of the talk about the GOL statue, there also needs to be additional statues of Don Jonas and Gene McDowell; without McDowell, UCF may have shut down the football program. The program was a million dollars in debt in the mid-80's and he served as coach and AD and slowly, but surely, had the debt retired. He had a plan and stuck with it - all while producing some damn good players. How Darren Hinshaw never got a honest look in the NFL is a crime. He was right up there with Steve Walsh and Kerwin Bell in those days. Took the job on consignment. The school has GOT to do more to honor both of these great men while they are still here.
