Scott Frost has been in charge of one of the best offenses in cfb. UCF has always had great defenses with average to turrible offenses. This is a 180 for UCF football. Are you concerned, excited, nervous or what about UCF becoming an offensive football team?

As far as I know, all of his work at Oregon was on offense. What is intriguing is that he played defense in the NFL for six years. While offense comes first with him, I am hopeful that he sees the value of defense, too.

I'd say he's starting from Zero, we had 0 offense, 0 defense, but I get your point. I can't wait!

As a defense-first, ball-control lover, I'm nervous and even scared. That said ...

If we were going to go offense ... I'm excited and optimist because we got the best guy out there!

Offense wins championships. Not Defense. Offensive duty is to score points. A lot of them.

I would preferably have a kick-ass offense and a stout Southern-style brawny defense.

This. He used to play D in the NFL and has been a D coordinator. Hopefully he hires great people for both.

Agreed.

Again ... people ... for those of you that wanted an offensive-minded guy, this is an outstanding move! He's one of the best guys, former NC QB ... who also knows defense. He's played defense in the NFL, coached it as an assistant in college, and flipped back to offense.

Florida recruiting is going to be the only question, and he needs to build a team around him to do it. We'll see, but it's an exciting time if you have been pushing for the end of GoL'isms and defense-first, ball-control. Even I, who prefer such, very much like this hire!

The whole AD+HC "sweep" was done efficiently, quickly, and we got "ahead" of the "rest of the pack." It was not a good time to be looking, and we got the guy we wanted, and the guy we need, if we're going for young, offense-first, etc... Very, very well executed all around!

We are G5. We aren't winning any championships. Give me offense.
