I'm picking "Toss up," but there's little doubt in my mind that we have the talent to pull it off. I think it's more a question of whether or not we can improve the running game and blocking and if our somewhat youthful defense (experienced defensive line not withstanding) will step up.

We lost a great deal on the offense. I think it is hard to win three in a row against any team let alone three championships in a row. There is a chance, but it is an uphill battle

I'm bored so figured I'd throw this out there for a vote. We have a tough Navy team coming in with the triple option and some teams have lost/gained key position players (as have we).
It comes down to 3 games in my book: @Cincy, Houston and ECU. Win 2 of 3 and we can repeat. At least two are at home. Only win one of those and there is no shot. Remember, we have two divisions this year and a Championship game so there is no "back-your-way-into-a-Conference-title-as-co-co-champs" BS going on. Someone has to truly prove they are the champ. There's no reason to think we won't beat: @Tulane, UConn, @Temple, @Tulsa, and USF, even with all the new pieces. Everything is really dependent on how far Holman has progressed as a QB, in my book.

I think it is on the O-line. They were a serious weakness last year. If they step up their play, we have as good as a chance as anybody in the league. If they don't 6-6 or maybe 5-7. I'm betting there are much improved over last year. I think that Hiers will probably end up being the starting center by the end of the year. O-lineman with shoulder problems don't last very long. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Hudanek (the other freshman OL) get some time if the line struggles. I don't have a great deal of confidence about this team, but I think 2016 could be one heck of a year

Good poll question.

This year, UCF has more holes to fill at key positions than they've had to go thru in a long, long time.

UCF lost 6 out of their 7 LB/DB's...including the entire secondary...as the loss of Glenn leaving TWO years early hurt.

Plus, UCF will have the most inexperienced WR cast, maybe the most in decades...as the most experienced WR/TW is Akins, who has a total of 12 career receptions (obviously playing just 1 year).

With an inconsistent OL that will have more changes this year...a term "toss up" is a good one...as I don't think anyone can really predict how well all of these new pieces will work.

Almost all pre-season mags have UCF finishing 3rd in AAC East this year...but UCF has won their division in the past, dating back to CUSA days when they weren't favored.

The incoming true Freshmen WR will have to step up HUGE in a big way this year...as outside the new secondary, that unit will probably determine how well UCF will do this year.

Best thing about 2015...is that so many will gain valuable experience...as 2016 could be "the year" with a Senior Holman, Senior Stanback, experienced but still young secondary, experienced but still young WR's...2016 could be a fun year too.

is Holman already the starter no matter what next year or is there still a competition?

What do you think?

Yes, there is always competition...there could be injuries amongst the staff, etc...but for conversation sake, hopefully Holman can continue to improve in Year 2 of starting this year....and then do so next year as a Senior.

If one of the young guns beat him out...great....keep improving talent at any and all positions.

there isn't always competiton...no freshman was going to start over Jameis, mariota or Culpepper when he was here...is it like that or announced as anyone can win job?

Only one of the above won starring job as a true Freshmen so the other two had competition and didn't even play as true Freshmen

Based on what I saw at the spring game, Holman is solid as the starter. Nick Patti has improved, but not enough to beat out Holman. Tyler Harris's performance was disappointing, but who knows, he could make gains in workouts this summer.

It comes down to Cincy. They were good last year and bring back everyone, I wouldn't be surprised if they go undefeated and play in an access bowl. Beat Cincy and we can at least get to the AAC champ game.

After Cincy I see Temple as the biggest threat. They've been improving and we always struggle in 70k seat stadiums with 20k attendance and the atmosphere of a practice scrimmage. It's easy to see ECU and UH as more important because of our history with them, but ECU is rebuilding, UH is in the West, and we get both at home.

With GOL, life is really like a box of choc-o-lates...you neva know what yo goinna gee-it.... YOU MUST SAY THIS IN THE FORREST GUMP TONE FOR IT TO BE EFFECTIVE :)

A lot of this season depends on Stanback. Is he finally going to get it together and be the back they he's capable of being? If he can be that with an improved Holman then we could be a real surprise team. If we beat either Stanford or USC and have 1-2 loses in the AAC, then go to a bowl game, it would be a very successful season.

Holman isnt a true freshman so your point doesn't go with what I asked...He is a redshirt Jr...so has he been handed the job or can someone beat him out?
