for an incredible season in 2023 with one year experience here under his belt, a great team around him and a QB coach he is tracking with.

We'll soon see if it's Kool-Aid but anybody who doesn't think so right now is a jaded sob....we'll all know more after the first couple of games especially with the road game at Boise.
Oh I predict he will throw for 3,000 yards, but that really doesn't mean squat in the Big12.We'll soon see if it's Kool-Aid but anybody who doesn't think so right now is a jaded sob....we'll all know more after the first couple of games especially with the road game at Boise.
I agree he made bad decisions and throws on the last 2 drives. But he has a year under his belt with a new OC so let's see if there are better results.Oh I predict he will throw for 3,000 yards, but that really doesn't mean squat in the Big12.
It is all about him leading his team on MULTIPLE game-winning drives. He has not had one in two seasons as a starting quarterback. I am 'hopeful' for Gus's, UCF's, and his sakes that that changes in 2023.
But as the old saying goes, "You can hope in one hand and sh*t in the other. See which one fills up first."
And for the record I was in the stands till the end at Jordan-Hare in 2019 when Plumlee led a furious comeback against my Auburn Tigers, but couldn't finish the job in a half empty stadium.
Auburn football players call out Jordan-Hare Stadium crowd after win vs. Ole Miss
"Need our fans on our side. Starting to question what Auburn fans are cheering for now. Lets get back on track & make Jordan-Hare Stadium GREAT AGAIN!"www.montgomeryadvertiser.com
Just like he was 0-for-2 on game winning drives against Louisville.
I loved watching Hinshaw play QB under Coach Kruz. I'm hoping that the relationship between Hinshaw as QB and Kruz might be repeated for us with our QBs and new OC. I'm hearing that our freshmen QB we have now is going to be even better than JRP and should benefit from our new OC as well. It's a new year with a new OC so let's see if there are better results.
Or someone who WATCHED the games last year. Would you guys drinking the kool aid from a fire hose feel the same if Mikey hadn't won 3 games last year? We'll soon see if it's Kool-Aid but anybody who doesn't think so right now is a jaded sob....

Off the top of my head, I can think of 5 games that JRP either didn't start or finish last season.Or someone who WATCHED the games last year. Would you guys drinking the kool aid from a fire hose feel the same if Mikey hadn't won 3 games last year?
Bo Nix is a 10+ win season waiting to happen. Guaranteed. Some of you neggie-nancies remind my of my wife. She only sees the negative. For instance, I'll do 4 hours of grueling yard work and then she comes out to inspect and says, 'you gonna pull that brown palm frond?'...
Only, see the negative...
Like this...our UCF football team has put in the work this off-season. Reports are with Darin Hinshaw (Great UCF Qb back in the day) the offense will be different and improved, we got potential in backup Qb as well....The schedule is set and off we go...you guys gonna point out the brown palm fronds or get on the Gus-Bus and cheer on your team?
Go Knights! Go JRP!
Definitely a lot of unknowns but in my thread title I wrote the word "potential". We have better potential this year since socks left and KZ was injured.Bo Nix is a 10+ win season waiting to happen. Guaranteed.
Spencer Sanders, 8+. Guaranteed.
JRP, surprises (bad and good). Guaranteed
It will be a fun season for sure. Successful, that's something different entirely.
Upon further review...Definitely a lot of unknowns but in my thread title I wrote the word "potential". We have better potential this year since socks left and KZ was injured.
I want you to know that I'm not a big fan of Gus' offense but am encouraged by new OC calling more downfield passing which is our more trademark before and after GOL.Upon further review...
Let's say "Potential at QB is there" with one season of experience under his belt. "He" can now refer to JRP, TM, or EW, and the 'potential' can be good or really bad.

Only whackjobs think cheering for your team and being realistic in regards of expectations are a zero sum game. Some of you neggie-nancies remind my of my wife. She only sees the negative. I will never understand why y'all think anyone other than Gus calls the plays.I want you to know that I'm not a big fan of Gus' offense but am encouraged by new OC calling more downfield passing which is our more trademark before and after GOL.
However, just like Scott Frost offense I understand the necessity for a strong running game.
Tomorrow is going to be a sludge feast so I'm glad we have a good running game.

Exactly. He can just get some green spray paint. Paint the brown ones and use them again next year. This is a really weird comment/post.

For anyone who is married, this post is spot on. Last weekend i painted the fence, washed my wife’s car (in addition to my own) in 90 degree heat, vacuumed, walked dogs, and unloaded the dishes while she shopped. This is a really weird comment/post.
You unloaded the dishes but not the laundry. What kind of dryer do you have? My dishes always break in the dryer. For anyone who is married, this post is spot on. Did i get a thank you?
Calling a play and executing a play are a big difference. Hinshaw was brought in to teach JRP how to execute the plays and add (with Gus' approval) more options to the plays. From what I understand (from those close to the program), Hinshaw has put in more vertical options and reads to help JRP get the ball to the playmakers. The question is does JRP grasp it and can he execute it? Jury's out and we'll soon see.I will never understand why y'all think anyone other than Gus calls the plays.
Gus makes the play call sheet. The call sheet specifies what play to run on what down and distance and in what situation (time, field position, score, etc.)
For example, on fourth-and-2 deep in the opponent's territory, you call a QB zone read or fullback blast if you are leading. You call a QB rollout run-pas option or a WR jailbreak screen if you trailing.
In other words, Gus has already "called" the plays before the actual play call is made. Hinshaw is nothing more than a mouthpiece that communicates Gus's offense. He is no more valuable than the football players who hold up the signs on the sideline. A trained monkey can do what Hinshaw does.
