2024 schedule predictions (8-4 overall, 6-3 Big 12): New Hampshire (Win), Sam Houston (Win), at TCU (Loss), Colorado (Win), at Florida (Loss), Cincinnati (Win), at Iowa State (Loss), BYU (Win), Arizona (Win), at Arizona State (Win), at West Virginia (Win), Utah (Loss)
UCF lost three games decided by a total of four points in 2023 while narrowly reaching the postseason. Again, the Knights are in a boom-or-bust campaign depending on how they fare in those toss-ups on the schedule. The offense should be the strong suit for UCF after it landed one of the most experienced transfer quarterbacks this cycle in KJ Jefferson from Arkansas. RJ Harvey is back as a top-10 rusher in the FBS last season and two of the Knights' three leading receivers from 2023 also return.

If KJ is an unmovable 300 lbs, 0-12 or 2-10 at best. The backup QB is probably as good as last year's back up QB.

Players will give up and malzahn will retire.

Maybe UCF hires another generational coach..whose style only works at this place.

In all honesty, Timmy McClain is light years better than Jacarri Brown.

McClain has actually played a season worth of games and has FBS notched wins under his belt. Brown has one career win.

McClain has thrown for almost 3,000 career yards and 15 touchdowns and rushed for nearly 350 yards and 5 touchdows. Brown has thrown for a shade over 400 yards and ran for nearly 300 yards.

McClain could have legitimately challenged for the starting quarterback position in 2025. Brown has zero chance and is the worst QB signed since Joey Galloway.

Brown is capable of running the 2024 offense "as is" in the short term if KJ Jefferson goes down, and he is capable of changing positions to wide receiver in 2025 or transferring to a smaller program to remain a quarterback.

Plumlee was game planned to be the starting QB against Kansas, despite not at all being physically ready for it. Can't see how there was ever a time McClain felt he had the support of the staff to be QB1.

It will be interesting to see how Malzahn manages his qb room going forward.

In retrospect, and in my opinion, JRP shouldn't have been allowed to play baseball. That Hammy injury he had probably was from overuse. hammy pulls are usually from quick sprinting from a cold start. Much like running the bases in baseball. Playing both sports at the same time and there was no time for rest. UCF would of had a better football season if he stayed healthy.

It was a cool story though that got media coverage, but overall, poor decision in my humble opinion.
