We definitely need these three back on the field:
1. Know what plays your opponent likes to run and how to defend against them.
2. Know what plays expose your opponents weaknesses on offense.
3. Have confidence in your knowledge of the opponent and ability to execute.
4. Have confidence in your team mates and game plan.
5. Be determined to let the opponent know they have to prove themselves every play.
6. Be determined to inflict pain (hard hitting) on both sides of the ball.
We need coaches that instill this in the players and players who understand every play
is an opportunity to make an impression on the opponent and to not focus on the score.
My biggest disappointment with the GOL regime is he seemed to focus only on what his
team was doing and not much on what his opponents were doing except for the
Fiesta Bowl which was some of the best coaching I saw from him. When you have
a team like we do this season, you need to prepare more like your playing Baylor and
you need to get the team to think physical football every play.
As fans, we would love to see the evidence of preparation, confidence and intensity
return to the football field and players who look like they love the physical nature
of the game.
