I find it fascinating that House Republicans were aghast and publicly threatened to stick it to Liz Cheney for voting for impeachment while remaining mum about the crazy comments of Trump buddy, Taylor Greene.

But guess what? Yesterday they had a PRIVATE VOTE and House Republicans stood behind Cheney. This act shows what a game this all is. They all know damn good and well that Cheney was right but are too damn cowardly to show it in public.

Who gives a damn. The republicans and democrats can both go to hell. I wish them nothing but dog poo and boogers full of it up their nose. So they can smell the same Sh t that the push on the rest of us. poop poop pooppooppooppoop

There's some good and bad here. It's a party issue so there really wasn't much of an issue with it being a private vote. I don't like the secrecy, but just by having a vote it shows that the party is trying to figure out where they stand. As long as we don't get to the point of congress trying to expel members, this probably isn't something to be concerned about.

"sometimes politicians don't mean what they say"

imagine finding that out when you're 70

Yes, the party needs to figure out where it stands! But this isn't about some private little 'Kumbaya' moment. Party leaders need to stand up and publicly LEAD.

The way things stands, it's Trump who gives his marching orders to the Hannitys and the Rushbos across Red Nation who tell their millions of listeners what to think. Their listeners, in turn, lead their elected representatives around on a dog leash. That's okay I suppose -- if the party is hellbent on shrinking its power and influence.

I've never been much of a fan of either Mitch McConnell or Liz Cheney but the fact of the matter is that the party is royally screwed if Congressional Republicans don't get some backbone and follow their lead.

Meh. I think you might be reading into this too much. The party does need to be led by a leash from their constituents. If people like Rush and Hannity influence voters, so be it. If the voters want that, it's the direction the party should move. Either they are right and carry the popular opinion, or they lose all influence over the government completely because they are wrong.
