of zero offensive line protection.

Holman...man can he run in an open field. Passing.....baseball throws only..still.

Nick looked pretty good. Again, no line protection. He had a guy open but wasn't strong enough to get the pass there while running.

Kruz looked descent

Dinovo.....eh?

Harris, although somewhat accurate, he's got a funny "cocking motion" when he throws. Slow runner.

Thoughts?

I was timing the interval between snaps for the first half and Patti ran the offense fastest, Holman second and Kruz third. Overall for the first half we were running an average about 24-26 seconds between snaps. For reference, Oregon runs about 21-22 seconds but that is also with kids recruited to run that type of offense

Holman has to start finishing his drives or he's not gonna start many games...

Nick looked pretty bad...did he put any points on the board??

Kruczek made one really bad throw but he also lead an 85 yard dive and finished and then threw the end of game td pass...he was the most effective qb tonight because he finished

Harris is slow and holds onto the ball too long but he can throw and was helped on his td drive by 3 catches (including a great one for the td) by Colubiale...

the other 3 QB's were are not good at all.....

I thought the D, RB's, and TE's/WR's all looked good...

I agree, the OL has to get better if we want to win more than we lose this year.....

all in all I thought it was an OK performance and, if the OL and one of the QB's steps up, this team can be a lot better than last year's...

Harris blows. It's like he tries to finesse everything instead of throwing it. I couldn't believe it when he lobbed up that pass for a TD....into triple coverage. What a horrible decision. He just got lucky on that one. I thought Garrett looked good. He seemed to have good fieldmanship and an understanding of what was going on. His pick was a bad throw but at least he threw it at the right WR. Hope he redshirts and builds some strength. He's got a heck of a good QB coach in the offseason. Defense looked pretty good. It's only 15 practices so it is what it is. If they're committed they'll improve by the time the season starts. This is a true project for the next season.

I think that Kruz could be a starter in the future. He looked pretty good. Overall, I was disappointed with the offense, mostly because the defense looked pretty beastly at times. Taj and CJ looked good. Remember, the speedsters on this offense haven't yet arrived on campus. Frost's recruits are still finishing up HS.

2016 projected record: 2-10

Glad you put it out there. I think the defense looked good and we have the potential to have some nice Holman to Smith, Peyton, etc. big plays, but I just didn't see an improved O-line and explosive playmakers on screens. The defense could be good, but potentially could be worn down and discouraged.
Didn't see anything that puts us at .500
or in a bowl game
As soon as I saw the blocked and missed kicks, the memories of FIU went through my head like it was yesterday

Just got back from cruise. Think it's a testimony to coaches that they were able to pull off this game. GOL didn't even try his first season, just had a practice with scrimmage.

Your comments are greatly appreciated and point to a season of change where not only will the 1s and 2s be announced late in summer but they will change considerably by end of season.

Expect more speed being injected during season as freshmen get acquainted with system and starting QB to be changed at least 2 times. That is why making .500 this season would be a surprise unless the other teams in the AAC really stink this season.

Agreed with mostly all the comments above... Holman looks pretty good when he's running as he adds another threat there, but poor decision making on passes. Also, questionable timing on handoffs... he actually slowed the runner down on multiple occasions with a less than smooth transition.

I did think Patti looked good, considering the line play. Patti seems to have the required speed to be a running threat. Kruz looked good also. His passing was crisp and his handoffs were smooth.

RBs looked good but Wilson needs to get north and south and quit the backfield dancing. All running backs did a good job of getting the extra yard or two after contact.

Wr's had too many plays with 2 receivers in the same place when the ball arrived. The kiss of death for a pass play. Coaches must correct these route planning/running issues.

Many tight ends looked good last night. This could be a surprise weapon for us going forward.

O Line did not look good but hard to tell how much of this was related to splitting up the line into two teams.

Defense looked pretty much solid.

Houston is awesome on punts! Although there were no punt returns, Tristan Payton is soooo graceful on catching punts.

TE is not a huge part of a Frost offense, but it's going to have to be. There is some definite young talent there and it could arise as a surprise weapon this year.

Houston....., we do not have a punting problem.
