R.J. Harvey NFL.com tape

CBS Sports:

60. Broncos: RJ Harvey, RB, UCF

Grade: A

This is the prime spot to pick a running back. Impressive patience by Sean Payton, George Paton and Co. Harvey is a smaller yet electric runner with plus burst, long speed, and serious side-to-side wiggle. Dynamic in the screen game too. New-age, versatile type. Think Bucky Irving.

145. Eagles: Mac McWilliams, CB, UCF

Grade: B

Older prospect who shined in 2024. Suddenness jumps off the film, and he's tenacious crowding throws underneath or at the intermediate level. Probably was available this late because he doesn't have premier size or length, and isn't a big recovery speed type. I like this depth addition to Philadelphia's secondary. It was needed.

Brandon Adams signs with the Dolphins. Woo I have a UCF player to root for on the Dolphins! But seriously, how was our secondary so bad with 2 NFL CBs?

Denver Broncos 'hit a home run' by drafting UCF running back RJ Harvey says coach Gus Malzahn

You know what’s sad is that I think RJ could be one of the last players that we will develop an emotional connection to that makes it to the nfl. With the portal the way it is, the “good” players are going to be here 1, maybe 2 years max

No where in that article does it mention player's height. The comparison is being able to do the trick plays that Sean Payton likes to call with a RB in the Wild Cat with the threat of passing.

I’m telling you it’s not happening. He’s a RB. Not a trick play QB that rarely throws and is 6’2”. I don’t need an article.

I'm convinced that some of yall just like to argue. All Dave did was share a Yahoo link that mentions that RJ used to be a QB. So they're saying Payton might use RJ in trick play situations. Dave didn't write the article.

Yeah it’s a Forum/ Message Board. The point is to agree and disagree. 2 totally different players that skill sets have nothing in common.

I've hired Willie Knightime to be my Troll Deflector. Thanks Willie!

Time will tell on RJ. I wouldn't count him out on anything. The odds of letting a RB throw in the NFL is very low of course but to just throw out an absolutism of "It's Not Happening" can and probably will come back and burn you on Ye Olde Troll Forum.

Did you read anybody say that he would be "only" a trick play guy?
Dave posted an article saying he was going to be Payton’s new Hill. I said that article is dumb, he was drafted to be a RB. Not a 6’4” TE/QB. I was told I was wrong. Now he posted this article. Which says exactly what I said. He’ll be a RB and not pull Nix out to have him run Wild Bronco.

The article you're referring to DID NOT say that would be the ONLY way he's used. It stated it's a possibility that he could ALSO be used that way. You tried to say it's not even a possibility.

How is Taysom Hill used? Does he play QB all the time? Does he have 60 receptions for 800 yards? No. They are nothing alike in any fashion. Size, position or anything. Can RJ do a trick play 5 times a year? Sure. Just like any other player.

They are alike in ONE GLARING FASHION, they're both former QBs. That's the main point of the article. The writer was just saying RJ can also throw and might be called on to do so at some point.

That wasn’t Hills usage. He rarely threw. He was a Wildcat guy that ran. RJ runs already. Just hand him the ball.
