Browsing Boomer Book this morning and I got to watch misinformation spread in real time. One of my boomer relatives posted this antivax post from the universally respected Rhodes Scholar Candace Owens.
Literally 10 seconds of googling showed that the first "Nico Times" ad was from a video game made in 2010, and the second Winston one was made in 2019 as a fake ad campaign.
The comments are filled with literal insanity.

Even more terrifying is that 3 people already shared it.
How do we overcome this as a country? I am watching us slide into obscurity as a nation due to ignorance all while browsing dog costumes on Amazon
